For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved baking cakes. As a child I baked with my grandmother and continued to bake cakes whenever I had the chance as I grew up. After a career in journalism and with two children I decided to follow my dreams and to bake for a living and so Pat a Cakes Jersey was born. Now my time is spent creating beautiful cakes for weddings and special occasions from my homebased kitchen.
Pat a Cakes Jersey is very proud of all of Jersey’s local produce and of our Genuine Jersey status. I use local eggs, Jersey milk, butter and cream, fresh local fruit, the best vanilla bean paste and Belgian couverture chocolate to name a few. I pride myself on making many of the curds and jams we use, including raspberry jam made using raspberries from my mum’s garden. All of our cakes are baked fresh to order.
For all wedding clients I offer a free tasting and consultation at my home near Georgetown. You’re invited to come, relax and taste some cakes whilst taking a closer look at some of the display cakes I’ve produced. After all wedding consultations you’ll be sent a full quote and a hand drawn sketch. Please bring along any samples, swatches or invitations so I can design a cake as beautiful as your wedding.
Focussing on quality and flavour, I like to create as much of the produce I use, myself, whether that be in the form of strawberry jam made using strawberries from raised beds in my garden or passionfruit curd made in my kitchen which is as good on cakes as it is on ice cream!
For me, every person is important and that detail shows – with hand drawn sketches for all wedding clients and a personalised consultation to help find out what matters to them.
